War Cry Joins TrueNicks

Written by moneil | Oct 29, 2009

War Cry (TrueNicks,SRO) has the credentials to make a big impact at stud. He’s by Unbridled, who has firmly established himself as sire of sires with sons like Unbridled’s Song and Broken Vow, not to mention being the grandsire of Birdstone.

War Cry also hails from one of the hottest female families in the stud book. He’s out of the Lord at War (ARG) mare Words of War and is brother to the multiple graded winner and good sire E Dubai and the grade I winner No Matter What. The latter is the dam of three graded stakes winners, two of them grade/group I winners, including a European 2yo champion and Just as Well, a grade I winner in 2009.

There is plenty more black type in this female line and under the second dam we find 2008 Breeders’ Cup Classic (gr.I) winner Raven’s Pass.

War Cry should do well as a stallion in Ontario. His female side has had some top class turf

performers who have run well at Woodbine Just As Well and Rainbow View.Looking forward to seeing some of his offspring doing well on that same Woodbine turf.

I think that you're spot on.It's one of the families of the moment, and the half-brother, E Dubai, is a very usable stallion.
