O'Brien to Unveil Full Brother to Derby Hero Serpentine

The latest chapter of Remember When (IRE)'s astonishing broodmare career is set to continue at Oct. 19 at Gowran Park when Aidan O'Brien unleashes the blue-blooded King of The Castle (IRE) in the mile maiden. Second behind Snow Fairy (IRE) in the 2010 Investec Oaks (G1), Remember When is a three-parts sister to the top-class middle-distance performer Dylan Thomas (IRE), the pair being out of Lagrion, a daughter of Diesis (GB) who also produced QIPCO One Thousand Guineas (G1) heroine Homecoming Queen (IRE) and champion 2-year-old filly Queen's Logic (IRE). Remember When has been sent exclusively to Coolmore's champion sire Galileo (IRE) since retiring from racing 10 years ago—with her first five European runners winning stakes races—and her name hit the headlines when Serpentine (IRE) struck a major surprise in the Investec Derby (G1) earlier this season having only won a maiden at the Curragh a week before. The colt was also providing the super-sire Galileo with a record-breaking fifth win in the Epsom classic, surpassing Sir Peter Teazle, Waxy, Cyllene, Blandford, and late studmate Montjeu. Serpentine was a reasonable fourth in the Oct. 17 QIPCO Champion Stakes (G1) at Ascot, while Remember When's other stakes-winning progeny are Wedding Vow (IRE), winner of the Kilboy Estate Stakes (G2) and second in the Qatar Nassau Stakes (G1) behind Legatissimo (IRE), group 3 scorer Beacon Rock (IRE), Plusvital Irish E.B.F. Blue Wind Stakes (G3) victress and Oaks third Bye Bye Baby (IRE), plus the listed-winning Bound (IRE). King of The Castle is Remember When's seventh foal, while she also has a yearling colt by Galileo on the ground.
