Journeyman Stud announced Oct. 28 that the stud fees for Khozan , St Patrick's Day , and Fury Kapcori will remain unchanged for the 2021 breeding season.
Khozan will stand the 2021 breeding season for $10,000.
"We had so many requests for Khozan in 2020 that we were forced to turn away a lot of mares. Khozan certainly has accomplished enough to justify raising his fee for 2021 under normal circumstances, but with the current uncertainty caused by the pandemic, Crystal and I decided that leaving his fee at $10,000 was the proper thing to do," said Brent Fernung, referring to his wife, who runs the farm with him.
Khozan is the sixth-leading second-crop sire in the country by progeny earnings and the co-fourth-leading sire by number of black-type winners with four alongside Constitution and Karakontie . He also is North America's third-leading sire of 2-year-olds by earnings. In Florida, Khozan leads the sire standings by a wide margin despite having only two crops of racing age. His top runners of 2020 include Princess Secret, who has won two divisions of the Florida Sire Stakes. Princess Secret is scheduled to make her next start in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1). Khozan also sired stakes winners Go Jo Jo Go, Poppy's Pride, and Liam's Lucky Charm as well as graded stakes-placed Untitled.
St Patrick's Day, the group-placed full brother to American Pharoah , will remain at $5,000 for 2021.
"St Patrick's Day was well received at stud in 2020 covering 116 mares. St Patrick's Day is a beautiful horse, and we're eagerly awaiting his first foals this spring " Fernung said.
Fury Kapcori rounds out the Journeyman stallion roster for 2021. Fury Kapcori's first foals are 3-year-olds of 2020, and he is the sire of stakes winner High On Gin. His fee remains at $2,500.
