Latinoamericano Postponed to October 2021

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the situation and impact it has caused all around the globe, especially in Latin America, the Organizacion Sudamericana de Fomento del Pura Sangre de Carrera board has resolved—in agreement with sponsor Longines—to postpone the running of the 2021 Longines Gran Premio Latinoamericano (G1) and Longines Cup (G2) from a run at Monterrico in Peru in late March to Oct. 24, 2021, at Hipódromo Nacional de Maroñas, Uruguay. This decision has been taken in line with OSAF's intention to organize the race and series of related events in the best possible conditions, ensuring that the highest quality standards are met and also ensuring the participation of the best competitors and the attendance of renowned international guests from the racing industry. The Latinoamericano is the only grade/group 1 race that is run in different countries. Last year, the Gran Premio Latinoamericano (G1), the richest race in South America, was held at Club Hipico de Santiago in Chile and won by Ya Primo (CHI).
