Charming Kitten Sires First Foals

Breakway Farm's grade 1-placed, grade 3 winner Charming Kitten sired his first reported foal in Florida April 7 when the winning Tribal Rule mare Chumash produced a bay filly for breeder Stephanie Burchette. The Charming Kitten filly is the third foal out of Chumash, a multiple winner and a full or half sister to four other winners out of Belle Armour, a half sister to grade 2 winner Feverish and stakes winner Blonde Bounty. Breakway Farm would see its own first foal by Charming Kitten two days later when a filly out of the Limehouse winner Idealhouse was born at the Indiana farm. This filly was bred by veterinarian Dr. Tony Wolfe. Idealhouse is also a multiple winner who banked $147,514 in earnings before she was retired. The mare has produced seven other foals, of which three have started and are all winners. Idealhouse is a half sister to grade 1-placed stakes winner Cool Ashlee (by Mister Baileys). Charming Kitten is an 11-year-old son of Kitten's Joy who won or placed in eight graded stakes, including a third in the 2013 Toyota Blue Grass Stakes (G1). He became a graded stakes winner in the 2015 W. L. McKnight Handicap (G3T) at Gulfstream Park on his way to earning $1,018,701. Charming Kitten retired with an 8-8-3 record from 33 starts. Breakway Farm stands Charming Kitten this year for $2,000.
