Ocho Ocho Ocho Relocating to Peru

Grade 3 stakes winner Ocho Ocho Ocho will stand at Haras San Pablo, Lima-Peru, starting in the 2021 Southern Hemisphere breeding season, according to bloodstock agent Carlos S.E. Moore, who brokered the deal. By Street Sense out of the Horse Chestnut mare Winner, Ocho Ocho Ocho was undefeated at 2 when he captured the off-the-turf Juvenile Turf Sprint Stakes by 5 3/4 lengths and went on to win the $1 million Delta Downs Jackpot Stakes (G3), in which he earned a 105 Equibase Speed Rating. At 3, he was third in the Toyota Blue Grass Stakes (G1) to Carpe Diem, and though fourth in the Penn Mile Stakes (G3T), he was only about a length behind winner Force the Pass. He retired with a 3-1-1 record from 11 starts and earnings of $852,360. Ocho Ocho Ocho is a half brother to grade 2-placed winner Private Ensign (by A.P. Indy) and his third dam is undefeated 1988 champion older mare Personal Ensign, who was honored as Broodmare of the Year in 1996. "He is going to be an extraordinary match for our pool of mares during the following years," said Eduardo Villaran Gallagher, who runs Haras San Pablo. "Ocho Ocho Ocho showed both amazing sprint speed and stamina, with a pedigree geared towards stamina." Haras San Pablo, a leading stud farm in Peru, has bred over 55 group 1 winners more than 60 Postin Awards, which are Peru's equivalent to Eclipse Awards.
