Global Campaign's First Foal a Maryland-Bred Filly

WinStar Farm stallion Global Campaign sired his first reported foal when breeder Country Life Farm welcomed Jan. 14 a Maryland-bred filly out of multiple stakes-placed Miss Mystique (Teuflesberg), an earner of $258,283. "We were excited to breed to him and we couldn't be happier with this filly," said Christy Holden, Country Life Farm general manager. "Being a Maryland-bred will give her lots of opportunities to earn bonuses when she runs, and she's already showing us that she'll be a star." A son of Curlin bred by WinStar, Global Campaign demonstrated speed and stamina on the racetrack. He won from seven furlongs on debut at 3 to 1 1/4 miles in the Woodward Handicap (G1) at 4. He also captured the 2019 Peter Pan Stakes (G3), the 2020 Monmouth Cup Stakes (G3) over seven other stakes winners, and was third in the 2020 Longines Breeders' Cup Classic (G1). He won six of 10 starts and bankrolled $1,321,080 for partners Sagamore Farm and WinStar and trainer Stanley Hough. A complete outcross in his first four generations, Global Campaign is one of three black-type winners from as many foals produced from the late Globe Trot (A.P. Indy). The others are multiple grade 1 winner Bolt d'Oro and multiple stakes winner Sonic Mule. A $250,000 Keeneland September Yearling Sale purchase by Sagamore, Global Campaign was booked full in 2021 and bred 177 mares. He stands for a $12,500 fee in 2022.
