First Reported Foal for Tom's d'Etat Born in New York

WinStar Farm's grade 1-winning millionaire Tom's d'Etat sired his first reported foal when a filly produced from the winning Cross Traffic mare Today Comes Once was born Jan. 16 at Waldorf Farm in North Chatham, N.Y. Bred by Steven Wecker, Alfred Riccio, Keith Riccio, Patrick Brown, and Bill Achenbaum, the filly is the first foal for her dam, who hails from the family of grade 1 winner Strategic Maneuver, grade 2 winner Cat Fighter, grade 3 winner Ishiguru, and multiple stakes winner Good Luck Gus. "Lovely filly. Solid bone," said Kenny Toye, manager of Waldorf Farm. "Excited for her owners and happy to have some more Smart Strike blood in New York." A son of sire of sires Smart Strike, Tom's d'Etat was a dominant winner of the 2019 Clark Stakes Presented by Norton Healthcare (G1) at Churchill Downs, running a 105 Beyer Speed Figure. His other graded stakes victories include scores in the 2019 Hagyard Fayette Stakes (G2) and 2020 Stephen Foster Stakes (G2). Campaigned by G M B Racing and trained by Al Stall Jr., he also placed in the Whitney Stakes (G1) and Alysheba Stakes Presented by Sentient Jet (G2). All told, Tom's d'Etat won 11 races, six of them stakes, and recorded 10 triple-digit Beyers, including nine in a row, en route to amassing earnings of $1,762,272. Tom's d'Etat is standing his second season at stud for an advertised fee of $12,500.
