LNJ Foxwoods Announces Southern California Departure

LNJ Foxwoods announced May 15 that they will be moving their Southern California horses to join the remainder of their stable on the East Coast in order to shift focus onto the Kentucky and Canadian circuits. In a statement released on Sunday, the business owned in partnership by parents Larry and Nanci Roth and daughter Jaime noted that their move is due to the majority of their family being based out of New York as well as the relocation of one of their advisers, Alex Solis of Solis/Litt Bloodstock, to Lexington, Ky. "We have thoroughly enjoyed our time in Southern California and celebrated many milestones there, including winning the Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Sprint (G1) with Covfefe at Santa Anita Park," the release stated. "In particular, we would like to thank Richard Mandella and his team for their tireless work and dedication to our horses and all those in his care. Richard has done a terrific job for our stable and we have enjoyed so much success together." After winning their first graded stakes in 2015 with Nickname and Super Majesty, the Roths moved up quickly to find success at the World Championships with Covfefe in 2019. According to the release, the West Coast horses will be allocated among Josie Carroll, Brad Cox, Bill Mott, Todd Pletcher, and Brendan Walsh. Some of their Straight Fire homebreds will stay in Northern California with Blaine Wright.
