Kentucky-Bred Colt Is By My Standards' First Foal

Spendthrift Farm's By My Standards, the grade 1-placed, four-time grade 2 winner of $2,294,430, sired his first reported foal Jan. 23 when a colt was born at Jacob Nance's IR Bloodstock near Midway, Ky. Bred by Chester Thomas' Allied Racing, the bay colt is the first foal out of the young Nyquist mare Memento, whose dam is multiple stakes winner Martha's Moon and hails from the immediate family of Broodmare of the Year Better Than Honour. "We are very happy with this colt," Nance said. "He has good bone, a nice shoulder and hip, and a lot of leg. He's a great representation of By My Standards, and I know Chester looks forward to racing (By My Standards') offspring." Campaigned by Allied Racing, By My Standards captured the Louisiana Derby (G2) over eventual Kentucky Derby (G1) winner Country House and eventual Preakness Stakes (G1) winner War of Will. At 4, By My Standards won the New Orleans Classic (G2), Oaklawn Handicap (G2), and the Alysheba Stakes (G2) over multiple grade 1 winner McKinzie. At 5, he was second in the Metropolitan Handicap (G1) and beat eventual Horse of the Year Knicks Go. By My Standards is currently the fourth-highest earner from the Into Mischief sire line, behind Horse of the Year Authentic ($7,201,200), Life Is Good ($4,541,700), and By My Standards' sire, Goldencents ($3,044,000). By My Standards will stand his second season at stud for $5,000.
