Fasig-Tipton to Sponsor Three Graded Races at Churchill

Churchill Downs and Fasig-Tipton have announced a new three-year partnership in which the sales company will be the official sponsor of the La Troienne Stakes (G1), the Fleur de Lis Stakes (G2), and the Locust Grove Stakes (G2). "We're thrilled to team with Fasig-Tipton for this three-race series," said Gary Palmisano, vice president of racing for Churchill Downs Incorporated. "Fasig-Tipton brings unmatched prestige to these iconic filly and mare stakes races at Churchill Downs, and we couldn't be more honored to have them onboard." "We are pleased to partner with Churchill Downs to sponsor three important filly and mare stakes races. Fasig-Tipton is synonymous with selling the sport's top females, so this is a perfect partnership for us," said Boyd Browning, president and CEO of Fasig-Tipton. The $1 million La Troienne will kick off the series. Run at 1 1/16 miles on dirt on Kentucky Oaks Day, May 3, this year's La Troienne Stakes is expected to include two 2023 Eclipse Award winners: Idiomatic and Pretty Mischievous. The Fleur de Lis, run June 29 as part of Stephen Foster Day, is part of the Breeders' Cup Dirt Dozen Bonus Series and will award the top three finishers a partial travel credit should they compete in the Breeders' Cup Distaff (G1) Nov. 2 at Del Mar. The Locust Grove, run during Churchill's September meet, has proven to be a crucial stepping stone to the Breeders' Cup Distaff. Previous winners include Fasig-Tipton graduates Blue Prize (ARG), Search Results, and Shedaresthedevil.
