MyRacehorse Celebrates Seize the Grey At Breakfast

Winning a Triple Crown race is worthy of celebration, and Seize the Grey was the center of attention at a MyRacehorse event hosted at Churchill Downs May 26 celebrating his Preakness Stakes (G1) win. Seize the Grey has about 2,570 individual owners through MyRacehorse, who sells fractional ownership in their horses to give racing fans an experience at horse ownership for a fraction of the cost. Hundreds of those owners were at Pimlico Race Course May 18 to see their horse win the Preakness, and about 50 of them were present Sunday morning to celebrate the colt's accomplishments. Held at trainer D. Wayne Lukas' famed barn 44, MyRacehorse shareholders had a chance to meet both Seize the Grey and jockey Jaime Torres, take pictures, mingle, and eat a delicious breakfast. "All of our owners pitched in to buy (breakfast) for all the guys who work for Mr. Lukas just to say thank you for all the great things that they do and all the great care they give to all the horses," said MyRacehorse experience manager Caitlin Dunne. Torres spent the morning signing Preakness programs, hats, pictures, and anything handed to him. From one owner, Torres received a hand drawn picture of him aboard Seize the Grey, which he was happily showing off to everyone around. "They are the best," Torres said of the owners. "(Sharing the win with so many people) is better than having it for yourself. It's better sharing with everybody."
