171 lots have been cataloged for the Tattersalls Online September Sale which will open for bidding on Sept. 18 and will begin to close from an earlier time of 11 a.m. Sept. 19. The sale includes 118 horses in and out of training, 23 broodmares, 19 yearlings, six foals, four stores, and a breeding right to Phoenix of Spain (IRE). Headlining the catalog is leading French sprinter and 107 Timeform-rated mare Mgheera (GB). Already a listed winner and group 2-placed this season for trainer Manon Scandella-Lacaille, the daughter of international sire sensation Zoustar (AUS) will run in the Prix Petit du Couvert (G3) Sept 15. She is being sold with an entry in the Prix de l'Abbaye (G1) at Longchamp next month. A breeding right to classic-winning sire Phoenix of Spain presents a rare opportunity. The son of Lope de Vega (IRE) is the sire of this season's prolific top-level performer Haatem (IRE), twice classic-placed and winner of the 2023 Vintage Stakes (G2) at 2 and Jersey Stakes (G3) at Royal Ascot. Phoenix of Spain was himself a group winner at 2 before winning the 2019 Irish Two Thousand Guineas (G1) at 3, and currently stands at the Irish National Stud. The breeding stock on offer features a selection of attractive fillies in and out of training and 23 broodmares, including the Whitsbury Manor Stud-consigned black-type mare Biri's Angel (IRE) in foal to their up-and-coming young sire Sergei Prokofiev. Out of Electric Ladyland (IRE), placed fourth at listed level at 2, the filly is a half sister to promising juvenile Rajeteriat.
