JS Company's Autumn Sale Features 234 Fillies and Mares

Two hundred thirty-four fillies and mares are cataloged for JS Company's Autumn Broodmare Sale, which is scheduled at Shizunai Oct. 23. The biggest consignor is Teruya Yoshida's Shadai Farm, which offers 41 fillies and mares. One of the notable consignments from Shadai Farm is Hip 6 Colcannon (JPN). The 5-year-old Japan-bred mare is a daughter of Laragh, winner of the Hollywood Starlet (G1) who was bought at the 2009 Fasig-Tipton November Mixed Sale for $850,000 by Shadai Farm. She is in foal to Mikki Isle (JPN), Japan Racing Association champion sprinter by Deep Impact (JPN). Hip 84 Daiwa With Me (JPN), was bred in Japan and is a daughter of Daiwa Scarlet (JPN), who won four grade 1s including the Arima Kinen (G1) and was awarded as JRA champion 3-year-old filly. The 11-year-old mare consigned by Shadai Farm is in foal to Schnell Meister (GER) by Kingman (GB), winner of NHK Mile Cup (G1) who started to stand at Shadai Stallion Station in 2024. Hip 89 Haurvatat (JPN), from the Shimokobe Farm consignment, is a daughter of Daiwa el Cielo (JPN), winner of the Yushun Himba (G1), the Japanese Oaks. The 8-year-old mare is in foal to Mind Your Biscuits, sire of Derma Sotogake (JPN), who finished second in the 2023 Breeders' Cup Classic (G1). Hip 102 Recoleta (JPN), consignment from Shiraoi Farm, is a daughter of Evita Argentina, winner of La Brea Stakes (G1). The 6-year-old mare is in foal to Nadal, the unbeaten winner of the 2020 Arkansas Derby (G1). The first crop by Nadal are 2-year-olds this year and he has sent 13 winners including three on turf so far.
