Swift Delivery Looks for Stakes Win in Ontario Derby

Swift Delivery, co-owned by three-time Super Bowl champion Travis Kelce, takes on six in the CA$135,000 Ontario Derby (G3) Oct. 19 at Woodbine. The Mark Casse trainee is coming off a runner-up finish in the CA$142,000 Toronto Cup Stakes over the turf at Woodbine Aug. 31. The son of Not This Time made his move at the top of the lane but could not catch the winning Piper's Factor and had to settle for second. “I thought it was good,” Casse said of the first stakes engagement. “He may be a little better on the all-weather, at least that is what it looks like. It was a solid race. Was it his best race? Probably not. He’s doing well and we are anxious to get back on the all-weather track. "I think the distance is good for him, and he likes the all-weather, so hopefully, it translates into a strong effort on Saturday." Swift Delivery will take on Dresden Row, Roscar, Babbo, and Two Ghosts, all of which are already stakes winners. Dresden Row and Babbo both finished behind Swift Delivery in the Toronto Cup, running third and fourth, respectively. Chiefwoods Stables' Roscar, a gelding by Oscar Performance, is coming off a win in the Breeders' Stakes Sept. 29 going 1 1/2 miles over the turf at Woodbine. Repole Stable's Bail Us Out, a colt by Lookin At Lucky trained by Kevin Attard, comes off a win in an allowance optional claiming race at Woodbine Sept. 7. He finished with an explosive late kick, even after traveling five wide in the upper stretch.
