Missing Rocks First Winner for Lookin At Lee

Some familiar connections celebrated the first winner for classic-placed freshman sire Lookin At Lee when Missing Rocks raced prominently throughout before drawing off to a 4 3/4-length win in an Oct. 17 maiden special weight race at Remington Park. Missing Rocks is a homebred for L&N Racing and is trained by Steve Asmussen. L&N Racing, a partnership of Lee Levinson and his family members as well as Don Nelson, also campaigned Lookin At Lee, who was trained by Asmussen. A two-time stakes winner, Lookin At Lee placed in three grade 1 races, including a runner-up finish in the 2017 Kentucky Derby (G1). A son of classic winner Lookin At Lucky, Lookin At Lee stood the 2024 season for $2,500 at Irish Hill & Dutchess Views Stallions near Stillwater, N.Y. On the track he has three runners to date from 14 foals of racing age. He has 24 foals in his first two crops. Missing Rocks nailed down a maiden win in his fourth career start, a victory that followed runner-up finishes in his first two races. The gelding is the second winner from as many starters out of the winning Uncle Mo mare MacCorleot, who set a course record at Belterra Park for five furlongs in :56.04. With Stewart Elliott up, New York-bred Missing Rocks completed Thursday's mile test in 1:40.73 on a fast track.
