Petulante Joins Roster at Irish Hill and Dutchess View
Petulante, a graded stakes-winning son of the late Arrogate out of the Uncle Mo mare Auntjenn, has been retired and will enter stud in 2025 under the management of Irish Hill and Dutchess Views Stallions in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. Racing for Lugamo Racing Stable, Petulante broke his maiden at first asking and would never finish off the board. His foray into graded stakes company would result in a win in the 2023 Salvator Mile Stakes (G3) at Monmouth Park, beating the likes of 2021 Wood Memorial Stakes (G2) winner Bourbonic and subsequent 2023 Clark Stakes (G2) winner and millionaire Trademark. Lugamo Racing Stable retains interest in the stallion and will ensure the stallion is well supported during his early years at stud. Petulante will stand his initial season for $5,000 with a live foal stands and nurses guarantee. Arrogate had his coming out party in the 2016 Travers Stakes (G1) at nearby Saratoga Race Course and went on to reel off consecutive wins in three of the world's richest races: the 2016 Breeders' Cup Classic (G1), 2017 Pegasus World Cup Invitational Stakes (G1), and 2017 Dubai World Cup (G1). Now deceased, Arrogate is the sire of classic winners Arcangelo, winner of the 2023 Belmont Stakes (G1), and Seize the Grey, winner of the Preakness Stakes (G1). Petulante's dam Auntjenn, a multiple winner and grade 2-placed, is a half brother to stakes winner The Donegal Clan (Twirling Candy).
