Claiborne Sets War of Will's 2025 Fee at $20,000

Claiborne Farm announced Nov. 18 that multiple grade 1 winner War of Will's stud fee will be set at $20,000 for the 2025 breeding season with a live foal stands and nurses guarantee. The 8-year-old son of War Front is a top 10 North American freshman sire by total progeny earnings as of Nov. 18 but the second-leading sire of his class by number of turf winners and turf earnings. His best performers include stakes-placed winner She's Got Will, who has earned $163,500, and stakes-placed runners Garden of War and My Emmy. To date, War of Will has sired 14 winners. At auction, War of Will's progeny included a half-dozen six-figure 2-year-olds worldwide, topped by a $400,000 colt sold during the Ocala Breeders' Sales Spring 2-Year-Olds in Training Sale. He also was represented by five six-figure yearlings, led by a $230,000 filly sold during Fasig-Tipton's The October Sale. War of Will won grade 1 stakes on both dirt and turf, capturing the 2019 Preakness Stakes (G1) and 2020 Maker's Mark Mile (G1T). He also won the Risen Star Stakes (G2) and LeComte Stakes (G3), and placed in the Woodbine Mile (G1T), Pennsylvania Derby (G1), and Summer Stakes (G1T). He had career earnings of $1,881,803.
