Share in Hello Youmzain Tops Arqana Online Nov. Sale
Offering 13 stallion shares and four breeding rights, the Arqana Online November Sale took place Nov. 26, and 14 out of the 17 lots were sold for a total of €1,019,000. Making €250,000 (US$262,500, €1=US$1.05), a share in Hello Youmzain (FR) (lot 4) was the top price at the sale when bought by Laurent Benoit (Broadhurst Agency). The leading European first-season sire by winners-to-runners as well as black-type performers, the Haras d'Etreham sire has already produced group winners that include Misunderstood (FR), who was also placed in the Prix Jean-Luc Lagardère (G1). Wertheimer & Frère had the final say at €180,000 for a share in Kameko (GB) (lot 7). The impressive winner of the Futurity Stakes (G1) at 2 and the Two Thousand Guineas (G1) at 3, his first crop of 2-year-olds has produced group 1 scorer New Century (GB) as well as group 2 winner Wimbledon Hawkeye (GB). Bought for €150,000, a share in Persian King (IRE) (lot 13) was bought by Haras du Chateau. A group winner in England at 2 before taking the Poule d'Essai des Poulains (G1) at 3, he also took the Prix d'Ispahan (G1) and Prix Moulin de Longchamp (G1) before ending his career with a third in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe (G1). Standing at Haras d'Etreham, his first 2-year-olds have won in France, England and Ireland.
