Inglis Digital USA Releases December Sale Catalog

The catalog for the Inglis Digital USA December Sale is now available online, featuring a slate of 49 horses on offer. Horses will sell during the online auction Dec. 4, beginning at 2 p.m. ET, with subsequent listings closing in three-minute increments. With the breeding season fast approaching, and winter meets beginning all over the country, the December sale catalog features offerings for buyers looking to restock their barns. Among the catalog's offerings is West Saratoga, a grade 3 winner who competed in this year's Kentucky Derby (G1), and is nominated to the $20 million Saudi Cup (G1) Feb. 22, 2025. The 3-year-old son of Exaggerator quickly established himself as one of the top colts of his class, winning in the summer of his 2-year-old campaign at Ellis Park, then parlaying that into a victory in the 2023 Iroquois Stakes (G3) at Churchill Downs over a field that included future Preakness Stakes (G1) winner Seize the Grey. West Saratoga clinched a spot in the Kentucky Derby with in-the-money efforts in the Pasco Stakes, the Sam F. Davis Stakes (G3), and the Jeff Ruby Steaks (G3), racing for owner Harry Veruchi and trainer Larry Demeritte. He finished 12th in the Kentucky Derby, outfinishing future Travers Stakes (G1) winner Fierceness and future H. Allen Jerkens Memorial Stakes (G1) winner Domestic Product. "I've always felt great about this horseā€”he has all the attributes of a top competitor," said Demeritte. "He's laid back but gives his all when asked, is straightforward, sound, and never misses a meal. He's beaten some of the best 3-year-olds in the country, including Seize the Grey twice, and I've always geared him toward a strong 4-year-old campaign. "Even after tough races like the Kentucky Derby, he bounced back perfectly, which is why I believe he'll be one of the top 4-year-olds in the country," Demeritte continued. "Unfortunately, due to my health, I have to let him go, but I'm confident he'll bring success and joy to his next connections." For breeders looking to add to their broodmare band in the coming year, the December Sale has cataloged several mares pregnant to top stallions. Nikki's Choice, a winning daughter of Forestry, is offered pregnant to elite commercial sire Uncle Mo. Since 2020, Nikki's Choice has had foals by Uncle Mo sell as yearlings for $1.1 million and $600,000. 1989 Canadian champion grass horse Charlie Barley and 1987 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Stakes (G1) winner Success Express can be found in her extended family. She is being offered by Winchester Farm. Shenandoah Cat is offered pregnant for the first time to leading freshman sire Vekoma. The 5-year-old Commissioner mare is out of the stakes-placed High Yield mare Boston Cat, and she is a half sister to stakes-placed The Creep. Her deep extended page is highlighted by 2002 European champion 2-year-old colt Hold That Tiger, 1996 Belmont Stakes (G1) winner Editor's Note, and grade 1 winners Hennessy, Field Cat, and Pearl City. She is offered by Chris Sterbenz. Made In Italy (IRE) is an Italian group 2-placed mare pregnant to grade 1 winner Olympiad. The Irish-born 7-year-old daughter of Mukhadram (GB) finished third in the Premio Oaks d'Italia (G2), before coming stateside to race and eventually join the broodmare roster of KatieRich Farm, which offers her in the December Sale. Her internationally appealing page features 1984-85 Ascot Gold Cup (G1) winner Gildoran and Roderic O'Connor (IRE), whose group 1 conquests included the 2011 Irish Two Thousand Guineas (G1). "As we wrap up a successful year, our December Digital Sale offers an exceptional opportunity for buyers to acquire top-quality horses, said Liza Hendriks, CEO of Inglis Digital USA.
