Despite Dubai Loss, Forever Young No. 1 in WBR Rankings
Despite his third-place finish to United States-trained Hit Show and Mixto in the April 5 Dubai World Cup (G1), Saudi Cup (G1) hero Forever Young (JPN) remains at the top of the most recent Longines World's Best Racehorse Rankings for 2025. The multiple grade 1 winner sports a rating of 127. Click here to view the full list of rankings Behind Forever Young in the second slot with a 126 rating is Hong Kong champion Romantic Warrior (IRE), a narrow second to Forever Young in the Saudi Cup. Romantic Warrior was recently second by a nose to Soul Rush (JPN) in a thrilling finish in the April 5 Dubai Turf (G1) at Meydan Racecourse. A second Japanese-trained horse rounds out the top 3 with Danon Decile (JPN) joining the rankings following a decisive victory in the April 5 Dubai Sheema Classic (G1) over three horses in the top 12 World's Best ratings: Calandagan (IRE), Durezza (JPN), and Rebel's Romance (IRE). The winner of last year's Japanese Derby (G1) was given a 125 rating. The highest-rated U.S.-trained horse on the world rankings is this year's Pegasus World Cup Invitational Stakes (G1) winner White Abarrio, tied for fourth with a 124 rating with Hong Kong star Ka Ying Rising (NZ). Trained by Saffie Joseph Jr. for C2 Racing Stable, Gary Barber, and La Milagrosa Stable, White Abarrio backed up his dominant Pegasus score with a 5 1/4-length romp in the Ghostzapper Stakes (G3) March 29 at Gulfstream Park.
