Saul Elliott, First Starter for Listing, Wins Debut
California-based sire Listing wasted no time in securing a winner from his initial crop when his first starter, Saul Elliott, won his debut by 2 1/4 lengths May 25 at Santa Anita Park. Racing for owner Here We Go Brothers, Saul Elliott tracked Jalisco early in Sunday's fifth race, a 4 1/2-furlong test for California-bred or California-sired 2-year-old maidens on the main track. Trained by Doug O'Neill and sent off as the favorite at 3-2 under Antonio Fresu, Saul Elliott took command in the stretch to complete the race in :51.96 on a fast track. Listing stands for $2,000 at Paul Reddam's Ocean Breeze Ranch near Bonsall, Calif. He has 12 foals in his first crop as well as nine yearlings in his second crop. Campaigned by Reddam Racing, Listing, a son of Square Eddie, won four stakes including the 2019 Quick Call Stakes (G3T) at Saratoga Race Course. Reddam Racing also is the breeder of Saul Elliott, who is out of the Indian Charlie mare Cryptic.
