Narvick International Acquires Red Route One for $550K

Eyes were drawn to the purchase of Red Route One for $550,000, the second-highest purchase of Fasig-Tipton's July Selected Horses of Racing Age Sale near Lexington. Taylor Made Sales Agency consigned the 5-year-old chestnut son of Gun Runner, a four-time graded stakes winner for Winchell Thoroughbred and Hall of Fame trainer Steve Asmussen. Red Route One was purchased July 8 by Narvick International representative Emmanuel de Seroux for himself and a group of investors. "He's been very consistent with some of the best horses in the country," said de Seroux of Red Route One, who praised the horse's class and pedigree. Red Route One, Hip 329, came into the sale with 28 starts, starting most recently in the July 5 Cornhusker Handicap (G3) at Prairie Meadows, where he finished sixth. It was made clear by de Seroux that Red Route One's racing career is over, with a stud career in the works. "He made $2 million, like the auctioneer told us, reminded us, and he's a beautiful horse," de Soroux said. "So, he has quite a lot of attributes to be a successful stallion." Where Red Route One will be going to stand at stud has not yet been determined. Additionally, Narvick International purchased the stakes-winning 4-year-old World of Trouble filly Rosie Jeeks, Hip 332, from the ELiTE consignment for $300,000. "We bought her for relocation in California," de Seroux said. "She's going to run at Del Mar, hopefully."
