Rushie Relocating to Whispering Oaks Farm

Blue Star Racing announced Oct. 6 a partnership with Whispering Oaks Farm to stand Louisiana's leading freshman sire Rushie in 2026. Rushie, an 8-year-old son of Liam's Map, has been standing at Blue Star Racing's farm since 2023, one year after entering stud in Florida. He stood for $4,000 this year. "We're excited to partner with an exceptional stallion operation as Whispering Oaks to continue Rushie's stallion career," said Dex Comardelle of Blue Star Racing. "We're going to continue to support him with quality mares at his new home, all while focusing on our first-class foaling and mare care operation here at Blue Star. Sires from the Unbridled's Song line have been an integral part of Louisiana breeding success for the last 20 years and Rushie is the perfect candidate to continue that legacy." Rushie won or placed eight times out of 15 career starts that yielded $697,941 in earnings. At 3, he placed in the 2020 Santa Anita Derby (G1) and Blue Grass Stakes (G2) before capturing the Pat Day Mile Stakes (G2) at Churchill Downs. At 4, he added placed performances in the Oaklawn Mile Stakes and Charles Town Classic Stakes (G2). Rushie is out of the Colonel John mare Conquest Angel, who is a half sister to 2014 Alcibiades Stakes (G1) winner Peace and War (War Front) and to Hot Mash (Not This Time), who ran second in the Sept. 13 Natalma Stakes (G1T) at Woodbine.
