Godolphin Draft Headlines Inglis Digital Australia Sale
A strong Godolphin draft, a yearling by first-season sire Anamoe (AUS), and a deep mix of racing and breeding prospects headline the 361-lot catalog for the Inglis Digital Australia February (Early) Online Sale. Godolphin will offer a draft of seven 3-year-olds, including two fillies, cataloged as lots 1-7. The group is headed by stakes performer Chergui (AUS), a gelding by Frosted who was beaten less than 2 lengths by the stakes-placed Coolmore Stud Stakes (G1) runner Gallant Son at Flemington earlier this month. Recent Godolphin drafts sold through Inglis Digital have gone on to produce stakes winners Barber and Alegron, along with last weekend's Carrington Stakes winner Sandpaper. Another standout entry is Mount Bona, offered as a racing and breeding prospect. The mare has won her past three starts and four of her eight career outings, and represents a rare opportunity to acquire a daughter of European champion sire Night of Thunder (IRE), who sired 32 individual stakes winners worldwide in 2025. The catalog also features a number of notable breeding prospects, including Velours Bleu, one of a limited number of mares in foal to elite American sprinter Cogburn, and Be Optimistic, a dual stakes winner with earnings approaching AU$750,000. Other highlights include Avila (AUS)—a daughter of three-time Melbourne Cup (G1) winner Makybe Diva—offered in foal to Russian Camelot (IRE) with a Russian Camelot colt at foot; unbeaten The Autumn Sun (AUS) 3-year-old Blackthorn; group 3 winner Duchess Kate offered in foal to Henry Longfellow (IRE); and Layton Abbey, half sister to group 1 winner Nakeeta Jane, offered in foal to Jacquinot (AUS). In total, the catalog comprises 179 racehorses (including 86 race fillies), 79 broodmares, 77 racehorse shares, 24 yearlings, and a pair of 2-year-olds. Also on offer is a 5% share in Sovereign Hill (AUS), a last-start metro winner by 4 3/4 lengths. Bidding for the February (Early) Sale opened Jan. 29. Meanwhile, two supplementary lots have been confirmed for next weekend's Inglis Classic Yearling Sale. Newgate Farm will offer an Artorius (AUS) colt out of Kiss the Daddy (Lot 799), while a Home Affairs (AUS) colt out of Word On The Street has been added as Lot 800 in the Tyreel draft. The Classic Sale will be held Feb. 8-10, with inspections officially beginning at Riverside Feb. 3, although close to 100 yearlings will be available for inspection from Feb. 2.
