Map of the Moon, Dame Laura Clash in Cincinnati Trophy

The Cincinnati Trophy Stakes at Turfway Park brings together a talented cast of 3-year-old fillies, headlined by Map of the Moon and Dame Laura, who aims to be the second filly to earn Kentucky Oaks (G1) qualifying points for her connections. The $175,000 event is slated for Feb. 20 and will be contested at a mile over the synthetic surface. Dame Laura, the morning-line favorite at 2-1, most recently won at Turfway in an allowance optional claiming race Jan. 9, taking the mile contest by 5 3/4 lengths. Owned and bred by Godolphin and trained by Brendan Walsh, the connections have already earned qualifying points with Rachel Alexandra victress Bella Ballerina. Qualifying points are awarded on a 20-10-6-4-2 basis to the top five finishers in Friday's race. Map of the Moon, trained by Kelsey Danner, is coming off a 1 3/4 length win in the Jan. 1 Gowell Stakes in her first start at Turfway and is the 3-1 second choice on the morning line. The 3-year-old daughter of Liam's Map has a perfect record, winning her first three starts. Owned by NBS Stables, she races beyond 6 furlongs for the first time. Her first two starts came on turf. The field of 11 also included the John Ennis trainee, Coco Connect. She enters off a victory in the Feb. 7 Valdale Stakes at Turfway. The daughter of Connect has won three of her five career starts and remains undefeated in two appearances at Turfway.
