Snitzel Filly Tops Inglis Australia March Online Sale

Last-start winner Washington Lilac topped the Inglis Australia Digital March (Late) Online Sale, selling to Silverdale Farm for AU$172,500 (US$119,025, AU$1=US$0.69). Offered by TFI, Washington Lilac is a Snitzel half sister to group 1 winner Qafila (AUS) (Not A Single Doubt), making her a valuable breeding prospect when her racing days are over. Silverdale's Rob Petith confirmed Washington Lilac would continue racing and remain with the Peter Moody and Katherine Coleman stable. "She's a beautiful filly with a beautiful page, she's by Snitzel and the family has been well bred up so there's plenty of fallback options there with her,'' Petith said. The sale's second-top lot was 4-year-old Polyglot, who sold to Darby Racing for AU$155,000. He will remain in the Michael Freedman stable. Polyglot was part of a 15-strong Godolphin draft which grossed AU$447,750, much to the delight of racing and bloodstock manager Jason Walsh. "We met the market at every level, and there were some really good results in there overall and some good opportunities for the new purchasers to enjoy a lot of success,'' Walsh said. "It's a great insight into the platform and the business that can be done on Inglis Digital, and we're really happy with today's outcomes.'' In total, the March (Late) Sale grossed AU$3,257,000 (US$2,262,808). Entries are now open for the Inglis Digital April (Early) Sale and will remain so until midnight April 8. The sale will run from April 10-15.
