Royal Ascot Next on Cy Fair's Agenda

Cy Fair, the 2025 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint (G1T) winner for owners Medallion Racing, Swinbank Stables, Joey Platts, and Mark Stanton, is scheduled to race next in the June 16 King Charles III Stakes (G1) during the Royal Ascot meet in England. The 5-furlong dash is an open race that offers an automatic berth into the Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint (G1T) this fall at Keeneland. Trained by George Weaver, the 3-year-old daughter of Not This Time was third in her first start of the year in the April 10 Limestone Stakes (G3T) at Keeneland, before getting her first win of the year just 20 days later in the April 30 Mamzelle Stakes (G3T) at Churchill Downs. As a 2-year-old, she won the Algonquin Stakes at Woodbine before her Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint (G1) victory at Del Mar. The Royal Ascot news was shared on X by Jake Ballis of Black Type Thoroughbreds, a group involved with the ownership partners. According to Ballis, Cy Fair will ship to Saratoga Race Course to train for Royal Ascot. Weaver's previous success at the Royal Ascot meet came with Crimson Advocate, who won the 2023 Queen Mary Stakes (G2). The daughter of Nyquist was partially owned by Swinbank Stables and Black Type Thoroughbreds. Medallion Racing found the winner's circle at Ascot Racecourse twice with the Donnacha O'Brien-trained Porta Fortuna (IRE), who won the 2023 Albany Stakes (G3) and the 2024 Coronation Stakes (G1). After other starts during her 2-year-old campaign, she came stateside and finished second in the 2023 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf (G1T).
