Reserve Bank to be Offered Through Inglis 'Bull Ring'
Last year's The Goodwood (G1) winner Reserve Bank (AUS) will be offered as a stallion prospect through Inglis' new private online auction platform, Bull Ring, next week. Trained by Mick Price and Michael Kent Jr., Reserve Bank was unbeaten in his first two starts, winning by a combined 8.3 lengths before finishing a nose second in the 2024 Danehill Stakes (G2). He returned as an autumn 3-year-old to string together victories in the Redelva Stakes, Tobin Bronze Stakes (G2), and Goodwood, where he defeated a high-class field that included group 1 winners Giga Kick (AUS), Climbing Star (NZ), and Charm Stone (AUS). His Goodwood triumph made him the only 3-year-old colt to win the sprint feature in the past 20 years and places him among a select few group of colts to win an open-age group 1 sprint in Australia since 2018. By Capitalist (AUS) and out of a Fastnet Rock mare, Reserve Bank boasts a pedigree rich in commercial appeal. Co-trainer Kent believes the colt has all the attributes required to succeed at stud. "He made a big impression early, winning his first two starts by big margins before being beaten a nostril in the Danehill Stakes," Kent said. "He then developed into a high-class 3-year-old sprinter, winning three straight races culminating in a dominant Goodwood victory." Reserve Bank will be the inaugural offering on Inglis Bull Ring, an invitation-only private auction platform. "The opportunity to offer Reserve Bank through Bull Ring is hugely exciting," Inglis Digital business manager Nick Melmeth said. "He is a group 1 winner, well bred, well related, and a horse with genuine commercial appeal." The Reserve Bank Sale will open for bidding June 17 at 9 a.m. local time.
