Harrell Family Announces Opening of Reverie Farm

Reverie Farm, a premier boutique Thoroughbred boarding operation located in the heart of Central Kentucky, is now officially open and accepting a limited number of seasonal and permanent resident mares for select clients. Owned by Curtis and Beth Harrell, Reverie Farm marks a permanent brick-and-mortar footprint for the Harrells, who have been active at the highest levels of the Thoroughbred industry for more than 15 years through their successful stables, Alto Racing and Harrell Ventures. Notable top-class runners campaigned by the family include Florida Derby (G1) winner Materiality, Fourstardave Handicap (G1) winner Halladay, and Saratoga Special (G2) winner and sire Showcase. Situated at the historic intersection of Pisgah and Old Frankfort Pikes, Reverie Farm spans 370 acres of world-class, limestone-rich land previously known as Bonne Chance Farm. The property will house the Harrell family's personal broodmare band alongside a carefully curated group of outside clients. The operation is under the daily management of industry veteran John Durr, who resides on-site. Durr has managed this specific acreage since 2013 and brings more than 30 years of elite breeding and farm management experience to the role, including prior tenures at WinStar Farm and Gainsborough Farm. "When we acquired this property, we were struck not only by its premier location and facilities, but by the exceptional stewardship of the land," said Curtis Harrell. "It has been cared for the right way for generations, and that is exactly the standard we intend to maintain. Our goal is not to fill every stall; it is to partner with like-minded clients, provide world-class care, and build a lasting legacy our family can be proud of." The proven quality of the farm's soil is reflected in its recent graduates, which include spectacular grade 1 winners King of Steel, Arabian Lion, and Cambier Parc. "I've been on this property for over a decade, and our philosophy remains unchanged: the horse comes first, before convenience, before anything else," said Durr. "The land here is truly exceptional. It has never been overgrazed or overworked, and you can see that in the caliber of horses that come off it. Good land produces sound, athletic horses. It's that simple."
