Ka Ying Rising Leads World's Best Racehorse Rankings
Ka Ying Rising (NZ) remains at the top of the Longines World's Best Racehorse Rankings, holding steady at 130. This season, the Hong Kong star has scored in the Chairman's Sprint Prize (G1), Sprint Cup (G2), Queen's Silver Jubilee Cup (G1), and Centenary Sprint Cup (G1). Sitting at 126 in the co-second position are Bow Echo (IRE), winner of the Two Thousand Guineas (G1); Daryz (FR), who notched a May 21 victory in the Prix Aga Khan IV (G1) (formerly the Prix d'Ispahan); and Romantic Warrior (IRE), who just completed the Hong Kong Triple Crown when he won the Champions & Chater Cup (G1). A tie in the fifth spot at 125 includes Nysos, who improved his ranking from 121 after a win in the June 6 Metropolitan Handicap (G1). Prior to the Met Mile, he was second to Forever Young (JPN) (who ranks 10th at 123) in the Saudi Cup (G1). He shares the ranking with Ombudsman (IRE), who won the Brigadier Gerard Stakes (G3) and improved his rating from 120, and Notable Speech (GB), winner of the Lockinge Stakes (G1). Rated at 124 is White Abarrio, winner of the Oaklawn Handicap (G2) this spring. A pair of American 4-year-old stars, Sovereignty and Magnitude, are rated at 122. The three are on track to meet next in the June 27 Stephen Foster Stakes (G1) at Churchill Downs Other ranked American horses are two 3-year-olds trained by Cherie DeVaux: Englishman, winner of the Woody Stephens Stakes (G1), and dual classic-winning Golden Tempo, who captured the Kentucky Derby (G1) and recently the Belmont Stakes (G1). They are among a cluster of horses tied in 20th with ratings of 120.
