NYRA Moves Glens Falls Stakes to Aug. 2 Due to Storms
Due to heavy rain impacting the Saratoga Springs region, The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) has rescheduled Thursday's featured grade 2, $250,000 Glens Falls Stakes (G2T) to Sunday's card at Saratoga Race Course. As a result of torrential rain impacting Saratoga Springs and the Capital Region, Wednesday's live racing program was canceled. With The National Weather Service placing the Capital Region under a flood watch through 9 p.m. Eastern, NYRA has taken all of Thursday's races off the turf and rescheduled the Glens Falls, a 1 1/2-mile inner turf marathon for older fillies and mares, to Sunday in the best interests of all participants. Entries will be taken for the Glens Falls on Wednesday and will join the grade 3, $225,000 Adirondack (G3) and rescheduled Listed $150,000 Curlin presented by Casamigos on Sunday's 11-race program, which kicks off at 1:10 p.m. Eastern. Thursday's card will now go as an eight-race program with the same 1:10 p.m. first post as scheduled.
