Eight Supplements to Aug. 25 Texas Yearling, HORA Sale
Four yearlings and four 2-year-olds are supplements to the Texas Summer Yearling and Horses of Racing Age Sale that will be held Aug. 25 at the Mary Ruyle Sales Pavilion next to Lone Star Park in Grand Prairie, Texas. The yearlings, by Arabian Lion, Greatest Honour, Oxbow, and Take Charge Indy, are a mix of Louisiana-bred and Arkansas-bred horses. Cataloged as Hips 149 to 152, the four yearlings will round out the yearling portion of the sale that starts at 11 a.m. CT. The supplemented yearlings are the following: Hip 149: Registered Arkansas-bred filly by Arabian Lion out of a stakes-placed Constitution mare who is a half sister to a stakes horse; consigned by McDowell Farm, agent for JRita Young Thoroughbreds Hip 150: Accredited Louisiana-bred filly by Greatest Honour out of a Bodemeister half-sister to two stakes horses; consigned by Robert Brewer, agent Hip 151: Accredited Louisiana-bred colt by Oxbow out of a Keen Ice half sister to three stakes horses and three stakes producers; Consigned by Robert Brewer, agent Hip 152: Accredited Louisiana-bred filly by Take Charge Indy out of a stakes-placed Oxbow mare; Consigned by Robert Brewer, agent Four Arkansas-bred unraced 2-year-olds have also been supplemented to the Horse of Racing Age portion of the sale. They are cataloged as Hips 164 to 167: Hip 164: Filly by High North out of a stakes-placed Ready's Image mare who has already produced a stakes horse; Consigned by McDowell Farm, agent for JRita Young Thoroughbreds Hip 165: Colt by Cyberknife out of an Awesome Again mare who has produced a graded stakes horse; Consigned by McDowell Farm, agent for JRita Young Thoroughbreds Hip 166: Colt by High North out of a stakes-placed First Dude mare who has a winning 3-year-old of this year; Consigned by McDowell Farm, agent for JRita Young Thoroughbreds Hip 167: Filly by The Big Beast out of a Gio Ponti mare who has produced a 2026 stakes winner; Consigned by McDowell Farm, agent for JRita Young Thoroughbreds Sales graduates are now eligible for up to six stakes races for horses who pass through the Texas sales with purses totaling $700,000. The Texas Thoroughbred Association board of directors approved a pair of new sales-restricted $100,000 stakes races for 2-year-olds, a filly division and a colt/gelding division, that will be held in partnership with Lone Star Park during the spring/summer meet starting in 2027.
