Number of Events Planned to Celebrate Breeders' Cup

As the Breeders' Cup World Championships prepare to return to Lexington, Mayor Linda Gorton today joined Breeders' Cup Festival organizers to announce weeklong plans for a city-wide celebration for racing fans, residents, and visitors from around the world. "We are back in the saddle and once again ready to welcome the Breeders' Cup home to Lexington," Gorton said. "No host city embraces the Breeders' Cup quite like Lexington does, and this year will be no different. Our city will be shining brightly, ready to welcome guests, and showcase this world-class equine tradition." "The return of the Breeders' Cup to Lexington marks more than two extraordinary days of racing—it is an opportunity to celebrate the people, traditions, and community that make Central Kentucky the heart of the Thoroughbred industry," said Drew Fleming, president and CEO of Breeders' Cup Limited. "The Breeders' Cup Festival has become an important part of that experience, extending the excitement of the World Championships throughout the city and creating opportunities for visitors and residents alike to be part of this special week.
