Fairmount Park Cancels Sept. 5 Due to Heat

Out of an abundance of caution for all participants, both human and equine, racing at Fairmount Park has been canceled for Sept. 5 because of forecasted extreme heat. Racing will resume at the Illinois track Sept. 8. Portions of the country have been hit by high temperatures and humidity this week, causing Kentucky Downs and Colonial Downs to move up post times Sept. 3 and, in the case of Kentucky Downs, to run a shortened card.
