Sippican Harbor to be Offered at Keeneland November

Keeneland announced Sept. 23 that grade 1 winner and producer Sippican Harbor, dam of millionaire grade 1 winner Commandment, has been entered in Book 1 of the Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale Nov. 3. In foal to Into Mischief, she is carrying a full sibling to Commandment. Her weanling colt by McKinzie will also be offered in Book 1. Both horses will be consigned by Taylor Made Sales Agency. "Sippican Harbor has been incredibly special to us, first as a grade 1 winner and now through what she has accomplished as a broodmare," owner Lee Pokoik said. "Watching Commandment develop into a grade 1 winner has been tremendously rewarding, and with another full sibling on the way, we felt this was the right time to offer her at Keeneland. We're excited to see what the next chapter holds for her." "Sippican Harbor represents a turnkey opportunity to the very top of the market," Taylor Made president and CEO Mark Taylor said. "She has one of the most active families in the world, throws quality foals, and could be carrying a stallion for her future owner." A 10-year-old daughter of Orb, Sippican Harbor won the 2018 Spinaway Stakes (G1) and raced in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1). She is a half sister to three stakes winners: Awesome Result (in Japan), Crudo (at Pimlico Race Course), and Saayedd (in the United Arab Emirates). The family received another significant update Sept. 19 when Bodacious Bay (Not This Time), a daughter of Sippican Harbor's half sister Bodacious Babe, won the $1 million Cotillion Stakes (G1) at Parx Racing. Bodacious Babe is also the dam of multiple graded stakes-winning millionaire Royal Spa. This year, Commandment won the Florida Derby (G1) and Fountain of Youth Stakes (G2), and was second in the Belmont (G1) and Jim Dandy (G2) stakes. He is set to return to racing as a 4-year-old in 2027. The online catalog for the November Breeding Stock sale is scheduled to be released Sept. 29. The auction will run nine sessions from Nov. 3-11, with the stand-alone Keeneland November Horses of Racing Age Sale Nov. 12.
