Group Winner Jonquil Headlines Tattersalls HIT Sale

Juddmonte's Jonquil (GB), a narrow runner-up in last year's Poule d'Essai des Poulains (French Two Thousand Guineas, G1) and a winner of the 2025 Celebration Mile Stakes (G2), headlines the catalog for next month's Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training Sale. The Juddmonte homebred by Lope de Vega (IRE) and from the fabled family of Frankel (GB), was a debut winner at 2, before landing the 2025 Greenham Stakes (G3) on his reappearance at 3. Trained by Andrew Balding, the colt subsequently finished second in the ParisLongchamp classic before winning the Celebration Mile at Goodwood Racecourse later that summer. He also landed the Paradise Stakes in May at Ascot Racecourse. Juddmonte's 18-strong draft also includes last-time-out winners Shipbourne (GB) and Exposure (GB), plus Accredit (GB), a dual-winning son of Entitle (GB), a half sister to Enable (GB). Godolphin's team is made up of 56 lots, headed by group 2 winner Ice Max (GB) and listed scorers Liberty Lane (IRE) and Boiling Point (IRE). Coolmore, who sold subsequent multiple Australian group 1 winner Sir Delius for a record-breaking 1.3 million guineas at the sale in 2024, offered 41 lots. They include 2024 Criterium de Saint-Cloud (G1) winner Tennessee Stud (IRE) and last year's Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint (G1T) second Brussels (GB). The Castlebridge Consignment is set to offer 230 lots, including the Sept. 26 Cambridgeshire winner Pierre Royal (IRE) and Warrant Holder (IRE), recently third in the September Stakes (G3) at Kempton Park. The highest-rated 2-year-old in the catalog is Hell of A Spin (IRE), the Adrian Keatley-trained son of Naval Crown (GB) who was a narrow third in the Middle Park Stakes (G1) Saturday. He will be offered by Consign Ltd. Tattersalls managing director Matthew Prior said: "Each year, Tattersalls Horses in Training purchases make headlines around the world, and since 2022 they have won an extraordinary 290 Group and Listed races globally, including multiple Group 1 winner Sir Delius, who topped this sale in 2024. "The Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training Sale is the largest sale of its kind in the world, and this unique fixture attracts a huge number of domestic and international buyers to Park Paddocks in Newmarket, drawn by the compelling combination of quality and value for money on offer. "This year's catalogue looks particularly strong, with real quality and depth throughout, and we look forward to welcoming the typically diverse cross-section of buyers from both the Flat and National Hunt spheres to Tattersalls." The sale will take place from Oct. 26-29.
