Juddmonte Sets 2027 Fees for Elite Power, Mandaloun

Juddmonte Farms announced Oct. 16 that two-time Eclipse champion male sprinter Elite Power will stand for $25,000 for the 2027 breeding season and 2021 Kentucky Derby (G1) winner Mandaloun will stand for $10,000. Both stud fees have stands and nurses guarantees. The first sales yearlings by Elite Power, an 8-year-old son of prominent sire Curlin, were well received this year, with 20 of his progeny selling for $250,000 or more during the summer and fall sales. Topping his sales offerings was an $800,000 colt out of Sophia Mia that sold during the Keeneland September Yearling Sale to St. Elias Stable, West Point Thoroughbreds, Lane's End Racing, and Belladonna Racing out of the Runnymede Farm consignment. Elite Power's top-selling filly brought $550,000 from Live Oak Plantation during Fasig-Tipton's The Saratoga Sale where Warrendale Sales consigned the filly for Sandra Sexton and Silver Fern Farm. From 77 yearlings sold (excluding short yearlings), Elite Power's progeny averaged nearly $164,000. Elite Power, who stood for $35,000 for the 2026 breeding season, is two-time winner of the Breeders' Cup Sprint (G1) for Juddmonte. He won six career graded stakes on his way to earning more than $3.7 million. He is out of the Vindication graded stakes winner Broadway's Alibi, who ran second in the 2012 Kentucky Oaks (G1). Elite Power bred 130 mares in 2026 and for his first three seasons at stud has averaged 165 mares. Freshman sire Mandaloun is among the 10 sires of his class represented by a graded stakes winner this year as of Oct. 16. The standouts among his 11 winners to date include undefeated Del Mar Juvenile Turf Stakes (G3T) winner Observed and grade 1-placed winner Rum Twist, who ran second in the Frizette Stakes (G1). Observed is being aimed for the $1 million Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf (G1T), while Rum Twist is targeting the $2 million Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1). Mandaloun, a son of seven-time leading sire Into Mischief, is a Juddmonte homebred out of the multiple graded stakes winner Brooch (Empire Maker). The four-time graded stakes winner also won the Haskell Stakes (G1), Risen Star Stakes (G2), and Louisiana Stakes (G3) on his way to earning more than $3.35 million. During the 2-year-olds in training sales, Mandaloun's top seller was a $560,000 colt named Tactical Tune, who Wavertree Stables sold to agent Justin Casse on behalf of CKDS Racing. Tactical Tune has not started yet. Mandaloun's stud fee is unchanged from 2026.
