Confederation Tops Inglis Digital October Late Sale

The Chris Waller-trained Confederation topped the Inglis Digital Australia October (Late) Online Sale Oct. 21 when selling to Sandhurst for AU$205,000 (US$143,374, AU$1=US$0.70). Offered by the Coolmore Colts Syndicate, the progressive 3-year-old colt headed a sale which grossed AU$2,581,100 (US$1,805,180) and produced six six-figure lots. The syndicate also sold First Act for AU$105,000 to Griffiths Racing. "We were inundated with inquiries on Confederation and First Act from prospective buyers both here and internationally," Coolmore Colts Syndicate representative Brian McGuire said. "We're very happy with the results, I believe both will remain racing in Australia for their new connections who we wish the very best of luck to." The second-highest price was achieved by an unnamed 2-year-old Toronado (IRE) colt out of Baccarat Baby, a brother to group 1 winner Tron Bolt (AUS), who sold to X Bloodstock for AU$200,000. Offered by Headline Thoroughbreds, the colt could eventually race in Hong Kong, according to purchaser Kevin Sin. Headline Thoroughbreds sold all seven of its offerings for a combined AU$471,600. Elsewhere, two 2.5% shares in Gimcrack Stakes (G3) placegetter She's Supreme realized AU$10,000 apiece, valuing the filly at AU$400,000, 10 times her AU$40,000 yearling purchase price. Other notable results included Queen of Clubs (AU$155,000), an unnamed Zoustar (AUS) juvenile (AU$145,000), and Undercovered (AU$125,000). Entries for the Inglis Digital Australia November (Early) Sale close Oct. 28.
