The Breeders' Cup, one of Thoroughbred racing's most prestigious international events, today unveiled its official logo for the 2023 Breeders' Cup World Championships, to begin one year from today—Nov. 3, 2023—at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, Calif. The 2023 event will commemorate the 40th running of the World Championships and the record-extending 11th time that the event will be hosted at Santa Anita.
The new logo design melds together the Breeders' Cup's primary mark with the color and vivid iconography of Santa Anita's unique track architecture and stunning surroundings in honor of the 40th running of the World Championships.
"Each year, we work to develop a World Championships logo that highlights the unique qualities of our host track and reminds fans of the prestigious level of competition they'll see at the Breeders' Cup," said Breeders' Cup Chief Marketing Officer Justin McDonald. "This year's logo emphasizes the rich shared history between Santa Anita and the Breeders' Cup as we celebrate our 40th running in front of our loyal fans in Southern California."
Placed within an oval retaining shape and paired with a refined typeface, the 2023 mark reflects the Breeders' Cup's prestige and position as one of the world's greatest Thoroughbred horse racing events.
