The board of trustees of the Thoroughbred Education and Research Foundation is pleased to announce Cory Moelis has joined the TERF board. Cory will join a board of dedicated individuals committed to supporting Thoroughbred health and welfare by funding scholarships, educational programs, and equine research with a priority to make racing safer.

"Cory is an outstanding addition to the board and we look forward to working alongside him to further the goals of TERF," said Dr. James Orsini, DVM, co-chair of TERF.

Dr. Orsini's co-chair, Dr. Kathleen Anderson, DVM, notes, "We are pleased to welcome Cory to the TERF board of trustees. Cory continues in the footsteps of his grandparents, Herb and Ellen, TERF's founders. The trustees are confident Cory will be a key part of the board in their work to further the mission of TERF."

Cory was raised in Los Angeles and was always drawn to Thoroughbreds. He was fortunate to be able to visit his grandparents at their farm, CandyLand, in Delaware, where he had a "front-row seat" to the world of Thoroughbred ownership and racing. Today, Cory is actively involved in the industry as an owner. He currently races horses in Kentucky and New York, where he now resides.

After graduating from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, Cory worked in finance and started an online gaming company focused on horse racing called Derby.com. Currently, he is general partner at Ground Up Ventures, a venture capital fund focused on early stage investing. He has invested in more than 50 companies touching all aspects of technology. Cory hopes to continue the legacy of his grandfather who helped start Thoroughbred Charities of America and TERF.
