Above Average, a 3-year-old Ralis filly delivered her sire's first black-type stakes winner Sept. 16.

The chestnut filly pulled away down the stretch for a 2 3/4-length victory in the British Columbia Oaks at Hastings Racecourse

After dueling with Air Force halfway down the backside, through the final turn and down the stretch before ultimately getting the separation she needed for the win. She stopped the clock in 1:51.45.

Owned by Canmor Farms and bred by Ole Nielsen, Above Average is trained by Mark Cloutier. The win added to the filly's career earnings by $54,336.

For her young career, Above Average 3-3-0 from nine starts with $78,493 in earnings. She is out of the Officer mare Ole's Miss.

She paid CA$15.80 for a $2 win bet. 

Above Average has run all of her races at Hastings, where she broke her maiden in her second time out in a maiden claiming race Aug. 13 of last year.

Her sire ran in the 2015 Breeders' Cup Juvenile (G1) and the Breeders' Cup Turf (G1T), finishing 14th and ninth, respectively.
