Rogueish, a son of Into Mischief , was represented by his first winner, Pardy Pleaser, who broke her maiden in a Sept. 30 claiming race at Gulfstream Park.
Making her third career start, Pardy Pleaser defeated six rivals in the five-furlong Tapeta race. Ridden by Edgard Zayas, the 2-year-old filly posted a 2 3/4-length victory as the favorite while coming from off the pace to seize the lead in the final sixteenth.
Owned by Calyspo Racing Stables, the Saffie Joseph Jr.-trained Pardy Pleaser was bred by Edward Seltzer and is out of the Kitten's Joy mare, Kitten Squared, who was winless in eight career starts. Calypso Stables purchased Pardy Pleaser for $14,000 at the OBS October Yearling Sale, where she was consigned by Kim Harrison.
Rogueish, who stands at Solera Farm in Florida with a reported 2024 fee of $2,500, raced just once, winning a maiden special weight at Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots in 2018 by 6 3/4 lengths. He was co-bred and co-owned by Seltzer, and is a full brother to stakes winner and the graded-placed Lucrezia, and a half to Ghalia, the winner of the 2017 Sunland Park Oaks.
Out of the Rahy mare, Verdana Bold, Rogueish entered stud in 2020. Pardy Pleaser is among four of the sire's first-crop progeny to race in 2023.
