Two-time stakes winner Amidst Waves returns to face fillies in her first start at age 3 against an oversubscribed field in the $175,000 Soaring Softly Stakes (G3T) at Aqueduct Racetrack going six furlongs on the outer turf.
A daughter of Midshipman , Amidst Waves showed early promise while rattling off a three-race win streak last summer for trainer George Weaver. Facing boys in the Oct. 8 Indian Summer Stakes at Keeneland, she held her own and was narrowly defeated by a nose before failing to rally in the Nov. 3 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint (G1T) at Santa Anita Park, finishing 10th by four lengths.

Racing for the partnership of Big Tufff Stables, Blackridge Stables, Black Type Thoroughbreds, R.A. Hill Stable, and Swinbank Stables, the filly has earned $250,875 by winning three times and finishing second once in six starts. She is 3-for-3 against fillies on grass.
Tiger Belle was also outpaced in the Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint, finishing last of 12 in her United States debut. A group 3 winner in Europe, the daughter of Cotai Glory remained stateside while transferring to the barn of Saffie Joseph Jr. for owners Michael Iavarone, Jules Iavarone, and Mark Frimmel. She finished fourth on a synthetic surface in the off-the-turf March 24 Melody of Colors Stakes at Gulfstream Park in her first start for Joseph.
Woodford Thoroughbreds' Pipsy makes her U.S. debut for William Walden. The Kodiac filly was purchased by Woodford for the equivalent of $928,489 at the Tattersalls December Mare Sale following a win in the Legacy Stakes at Dundalk Oct. 6.
