Trainer Derek Ryan is weighing options for his New Jersey-bred grade 1 winner Book'em Danno as he plots a course to the $500,000 H. Allen Jerkens Memorial (G1) at Saratoga Race Course Aug. 24.

Training at his home base of Monmouth Park, the Bucchero  gelding logged his second workout July 11, a bullet four furlongs in :47, since defeating grade 1 winners Prince of Monaco  and Nutella Fella in the June 8 Woody Stephens Stakes (G1) at Saratoga.

"He worked good, came back good. No problems," reported Ryan. "We have a couple of different options (for his next race), we haven't decided. It depends on the track and the weather, a bit of everything."

Those options include the six-furlong $100,000 Jersey Shore Stakes at his home track July 19 and the 6 1/2-furlong Amsterdam Stakes (G2) at Saratoga July 26. Ryan has also not ruled out a start on grass.

Undefeated in five races under one mile, Book'em Danno's only two losses were second-place finishes at the one-mile distance.

A two-time stakes winner at 2, Book'em Danno started his season with a win in the Pasco Stakes at Tampa Bay Downs before barely getting caught at the wire by eventual UAE Derby (G2) winner and Kentucky Derby (G1) third-place finisher Forever Young in the Saudi Derby (G3).

Bred by Gregory Kilka and Bright View Farm, Book'em Danno has earned $835,625 for owner Atlantic Six Racing.
