Multiple grade 1 winner Adare Manor brought fireworks to the Fasig-Tipton November Sale ring as she was purchased for $2.8 million by Northern Farm's Katsumi Yoshida Nov. 4. Consigned as Hip 214 by Hill 'n' Dale at Xalapa, the 5-year-old Uncle Mo  mare is bound for Japan.

"She looked gorgeous. I thought she was one of the best fillies on the market this time," said Yoshida's agent Shingo Hashimoto. "We're very excited."

Hashimoto said they have yet to make a decision on whether they will breed Adare Manor to an American stallion before shipping her to her new home.

"We'll see how it goes after we buy everything," Hashimoto said.

Bred in Kentucky by Town and Country Horse Farms and Gary Broad, Adare Manor raced from 2 to 5 and won eight graded stakes for owner Michael Lund Petersen and Hall of Fame trainer Bob Baffert.

Among her career highlights were three grade 1 victories in the Apple Blossom Handicap (G1) at Oaklawn Park and twice in the Clement L. Hirsch Stakes (G1) at Del Mar, including her career-capping, 2 3/4-length victory. She retired with a record of 10-5-0 from 18 starts for earnings of $2,096,600.

Adare Manor is out of the six-time stakes-winning Giant Gizmo mare Brooklynsway. The Ontario-bred's career was highlighted by a victory in the 2016 Doubledogdare Stakes (G3) at Keeneland
