Four more wildcards have been added to the Tattersalls December Mares Sale.
In addition to the Prix Marcel Boussac (G1)-winning 2-year-old Vertical Blue and Zero Gravity, the dam of outstanding British Champions Fillies & Mares Stakes (G1) winner Kalpana, two mares in foal on Southern Hemisphere covers to outstanding young sire Too Darn Hot, have been added. They are led by the Scepter Session wildcard Blessed Truth, a half sister to the dam of group 1 winner Switzerland.
Other additional wildcards are The Palace Girl, who will join Vertical Blue in the Scepter Session on Dec. 3. Consigned by Kevin Coleman's Slievebrook House, the 2-year-old was an eye-catching second at the Curragh on her only start to date and is a half sister to brilliant Sun Chariot Stakes (G1) winner and dual classic-placed Tamfana, Timeform rated 122. The Palace Girl is by multiple grade 1-producing sire and broodmare sire Areion out a mare by Dansili's son Zoffany, and comes from the excellent German family of Beverly D Stakes (G1) winner Sea Calisi.
Joining her on Tuesday, Dec. 3, will be Caliyza, who will be offered in training by John McConnell's Rockview Stables. The half sister to the six-length King Edward VII Stakes (G2) winning 3-year-old Calandagan, beaten just half a length into second in the Champion Stakes (G1) and a length into second by champion City of Troy in the Juddmonte International (G1), Caliyza is out of the group-placed Sinndar mare Calayana from an excellent Aga Khan family. The lightly raced daughter of Le Havre is a dual winner and Timeform rated 91 from seven starts.
Group 1-producing broodmare The Paris Shrug, whose first foal is the Caulfield Stakes (G1) winning filly Deny Knowledge will be consigned by Jamie Railton on Monday. The daughter of Manduro is a half sister to the Ascot Gold Cup (G1) winner Big Orange from the excellent international family of Shadwell's outstanding filly and producer Al Bahathri, the dam of champion Haafhd and ancestress of group 1 winners Gladiatorus, Military Attack, and Red Cadeaux. The Paris Shrug is offered in foal to promising first-season stallion King of Change, already the sire of listed winner Lady With the Lamp.
Completing the wildcard lots is the black-type Sea The Stars (IRE) filly Invisible Friend, a three-time winner for Kevin Ryan and Highbank Stud. Third in the listed Gillies Stakes in her most recent start, the lightly raced mare is out of a half sister to Irish Oaks (G1) and Prix de l'Opera (G1) winner Covert Love.
