Led by Citizen Bull and Gaming, the 1-2 finishers in the Nov. 1 Breeders' Cup Juvenile (G1) at Del Mar, at least a half dozen leading 2-year-olds breezed across the country Dec. 28.
Citizen Bull, likely to be honored as champion 2-year-old male at an Eclipse Award ceremony in Florida Jan. 23, breezed five furlongs in :59 2/5 in company with Chilean grade 1-winning 4-year-old filly Richi at Santa Anita Park.

In a separate drill, their Bob Baffert-trained stablemate Gaming covered five furlongs there in 1:02 3/5. Gaming, in contrast to Citizen Bull, has raced since the Breeders' Cup, finishing a lackluster third in the Dec. 14 Los Alamitos Futurity (G2).
Both juveniles are top-level winners, with Gaming, a son of Game Winner , triumphant in the Del Mar Futurity (G1) over the summer, and Citizen Bull victorious in the American Pharoah Stakes (G1) before his wire-to-wire victory in the Juvenile.
Other notable 2-year-olds from other barns to breeze Saturday included:
- Hopeful Stakes (G1) and Breeders' Futurity (G1) runner-up Ferocious, who covered three furlongs in :36.66 at Gulfstream Park
- Remington Springboard Mile Stakes runner-up Speed King, timed in :49 for a half-mile at Oaklawn Park
- Donut God—a winner of each of his two starts, including the ungraded Inaugural Stakes at Tampa Bay Downs—clocked in :49.80 at Palm Meadows Training Center
- Bullard, another 2-for-2 juvenile and winner of the Bob Hope Stakes (G3) at Del Mar, who breezed five furlongs in 1:00 4/5 at Santa Anita
