Pennsylvania freshman sire Pat On the Back had his first winner become his first stakes winner Dec. 30 when his son Fenton Forever captured the Wait For It Stakes at Parx Racing.
Fenton Forever is a homebred for Desmond Wynter, who races as Wynter Racing Stable. The owner/breeder bred the chestnut colt out of the winning Cat Thief mare Fairy Gray. Wynter also bred Fenton Forever's half sister Gray Lightning (Social Inclusion), who won twice for Wynter, including a 14 1/2-length romp March 18 at Parx. He then sold the filly through Fasig-Tipton's April Digital Sale for $370,000 to NR Club and the filly went on run third in the Jersey Girl Stakes.
Trained by Tyler Servis, Fenton Forever won his debut Nov. 18 at Parx gate-to-wire by 3 1/2 lengths. He captured the Wait For It Stakes in the same fashion by 3 3/4 lengths, going seven furlongs in 1:28.43. Reelin N Dealin, a gelded son of Pat On the Back, finished second in the stakes.
Pat On the Back is an eight-time stakes winner by Congrats, whose best performance came in the 2019 Kelso Handicap (G2) at Belmont Park. He won a stakes every year from 2 to 5 and compiled a 9-4-6 record from 30 career starts. He retired with more than $1.14 million in earnings.
Pat On the Back stands at Bonner Hill Farms near Littlestown, Pa., for $3,500.
