Fresh off his Santa Anita Derby (G1) triumph, Journalism moves to the top of the latest National Thoroughbred Racing Association poll of Top 3-Year-Olds, released April 8.

Overcoming a quality field that included two other top-10 sophomores, Journalism impressed with how he navigated trouble in the 1 1/8-mile Kentucky Derby (G1) prep.

Now, the son of Curlin stands atop the NTRA poll with 269 points and 26 first-place votes.

Change was not just the story for the top spot. The top seven of this week's poll are different than the previous edition.

Sandman, who last out won the Arkansas Derby (G1), moved up one place to No. 2. Also, climbing one spot are Tappan Street, who has one first-place vote, and Sovereignty.

The week's big mover is Rodriguez, who was 19th a week ago, now lands at No. 5. But a gate-to-wire triumph in the Wood Memorial Stakes (G2) at Aqueduct Race Track will do that.

Tiztastic climbs a spot to No. 6, and Citizen Bull who stood atop this poll last week, dropped to seventh after a fourth-place finish in the Santa Anita Derby.

Coal Battle maintains the No. 8 position, while Good Cheer, the top-10's only filly, stays at No. 9. Baeza, who had no points toward the poll a week ago, breaks in at No. 10 thanks to a runner-up performance in the Santa Anita Derby.
